Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

The short answer is: Easy! 😊

On a recent Friday marketing sync, we noticed that our website was down, and on top of that, we received an automatic alert that somebody had copied our website’s content.
But the real surprise? This time, the entire website was copied—not just parts of it!

The Details:

Our original domain is netrocket.pro and the “new” fake domain is netr0cket.com (with a zero instead of “o”).

We found out that on Thursday, the fake domain was registered, and by Friday, a complete copy of our website was launched on it!

  • All contact forms on the fake website still deliver submissions to us—so, no toxic or spam backlinks were involved (yet).
  • We managed to restart our website in 20-30 minutes, and luckily, there’s no SEO risk. But shutting down the fake site will take a bit longer—we’ll see how fast we can get this resolved.

Our Response:

We’re not sure of the intent behind this action, but it’s a good reminder and a lesson learned for our team: we need to elevate our website security to the next level.

Takeaways:

  1. It’s crucial to recheck the security of your website—whether it’s on WordPress, another CMS, or a custom-made platform.
  2. Ensure you have regular backups of your website and content, just in case!
